Welcome to Winfield Township located in DuPage County, Illinois. Winfield Township is comprised of most of West Chicago, Winfield, and Warrenville and includes small sections of Wheaton, Naperville, Aurora, and Batavia.

Meetings

The Board of Trustees meets the second Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the township office, except in November (third Monday).

The Annual Town Meeting is held on the second Tuesday in April at the Road District Office: 30W575 Roosevelt Road, West Chicago, IL.

Winfield Township Open House

Winfield Township is hosting its Annual Open House on Saturday, March 7, 2015 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Winfield Township Road District Office located at 30W575 Roosevelt Road, West Chicago, IL, in recognition of “Local Government Week”. The road district office is location on the southeast corner of Roosevelt and Town Roads. Snacks and hot dogs will be served while supplies last. Come visit with your neighbors, elected officials and employees.

Come learn what we do. Our elected officials and staff will be on hand to answer your questions and CERT members will be available to respond to any questions you may have on CERT (Citizen Emergency Response Team). SCARCE (Schools and Community Assistance for Recycling and Composting Education) will also be there for any questions on recycling. Don’t forget to enter the door prize drawing for fun prizes. You do not have to be present to win.

During the Open House we will be collecting newspapers, cell phones, eyeglasses, and hearing aids for recycling and sharing the results of our first Annual Recycling Extravaganza. Non-perishable food items will be collected to be distributed to local food pantries. Pantry donations can be brought to the Open House or dropped off at the 130 Arbor Avenue office during any regular business hours.

Winfield Township Senior and/or Disabled Bus Service

As of May 1, 2013, the Senior and/or adult disabled bus service will be fully funded and administered by Winfield Township. Special thanks to the West Chicago Park District which has been a partner in this program for the last 38 years.  For more information see this brochure (pdf) or go here.

 

Winfield Township now offers residents Free C.E.R.T. training

In cooperation with other DuPage County Townships Winfield Township now offers regular CERT training C.E.R.T. Patch throughout the year at the very professional HOMELAND SECURITY and EDUCATION CENTER on the campus of College of DuPage. CERT is a free service, professionally taught by local fire fighters, police, and medical staffs. CERT is training every volunteering citizen should have preparing your family first for disaster and then beyond to actually help the first responders. You will be STATE certified, fully equipped, and prepared should disaster strike. For more information and an application please see this brochure (pdf). New Recycling Option at Winfield Township

 Winfield Township is working towards a healthier Recycleenvironment.  It is our goal to offer a source of recycling that can also benefit those in need from our community.  To accomplish this, we now have a Paper Retriever recycling bin in the parking lot of our 130 Arbor Avenue office in West Chicago.  We encourage any and all residents to utilize this bin for your paper recycling efforts.  Any money gained from this program will be donated to our Emergency Assistance Funds.  Your help and support is very much needed and appreciated.  Please call our office with any questions at 630-231-3591.
